Description
Flexible online learning plus a hands-on apprenticeship experience make this course ideal for those starting a horticulture career, enhancing existing skills, or launching their own business.

Learners who complete this course and meet the requirements will receive:

  • Maine Horticulture Apprentice micro-credential and certificate.
  • 7 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)
Schedule
  • October 20, 2025 – March 22, 2026
    • Breaks: December 15 – January 4 and March 2 – 8
  • Zoom Q&As: watch live or view recordings
  • Apprenticeship: complete 200 hours by Dec. 31, 2026

Course Details

  • Time commitment: 18 week course, 4 - 5 hours per week plus 200 hour apprenticeship
  • Technology Requirements:  This is an online course. Reliable internet, an email address, and a device with video/audio (laptop, desktop, tablet) are required. Smartphones are not recommended.
  • Refund Policy: 50% refunds available before November 1st, 2025
  • Access: You will have access to the course content in Brightspace through the end of 2026.

This training program is offered on a sliding scale (self-selected). We strive to make the training accessible and affordable for all Maine residents.

  • $600 (Full Price): Suggested for those who can afford the full course fee.
