• Differentiate strategic plans from other planning tools and use frameworks such as SWOT and SMART to set priorities, define measurable goals, and assess organizational readiness.

• Implement and manage the strategic plan effectively by selecting relevant KPIs, assigning responsibilities, building accountability systems, and integrating the plan into daily operations for long-term impact.

Badges

The University of Maine system offers a badge system for its professional development programs. These badges indicate to employers the skill level achieved from this training. Here are the requirements:

• Participation Certificate: Attend at least 4 out of 5 classes and contribute to class discussion.

• Level 1 Badge: Complete the mission, vision and values statement, the infrastructure checklist and SWOT analysis. Send these documents to your instructor by email before the final live lesson.

• Level 2 Badge: Create a draft strategic plan and send it to your instructor by email before the final live lesson.

• Level 3 Badge: Submit a completed strategic plan and send it to your instructor by email before the final live lesson.
