If your organization disregards laws and regulations related to research—particularly when it involves human subjects—it risks not only financial and reputational damage but also civil litigation and even criminal charges.
While this is particularly the case for institutions and organizations that conduct research, the compliance challenges that we’ll consider in this course, data management, conflict of interest, and addressing misconduct, also arise in many other fields. We’ll examine how research compliance principles that address these challenges in human subject research can be broadly applied to other compliance areas.
In addition, we’ll consider several contemporary, complex research challenges, including gene editing, vaccine development, and foreign influence in research. Join Professor Ross Hickey to discuss these hot-button topics.
